Stop Surviving, Start Thriving

Discover the Freedom to Be You

Sometimes we can all use a little extra support, especially when it feels like we’re drowning in our emotions or have problems weighing us down.

Therapy can help you or your child connect with your most authentic self through empowerment, self-discovery, self-acceptance, and healing.

Bee You Therapy Center, LLC (BYTC) is proud to provide in-person therapy to children in Northern Virginia (located in Loudoun County) and telehealth/virtual therapy to adults who live in Virginia.

BYTC’s goal is to provide a safe place for adults and children as they explore and unpack their emotions and embark on their journeys of emotional freedom and wellness. This is a space where you can be seen, heard, understood, and accepted exactly as you are, no strings attached.

Here therapy isn’t about “fixing” you, because you are not a problem. Healing and growth are about changing whatever is holding you back and reconnecting with the ability to simply be you.

What’s with the Bees?

Well, the simple answer is I just really love bees! Proudly displaying my love for these amazing creatures is just one small way in which I choose to practice what I preach and model authenticity!

On a deeper level, I think bees can teach us a few things about ourselves. They play a vital role in our world and survive only through their interdependence, communication, and cooperation with each other. This reminds me of how each person has their own unique sense of purpose and belonging to fulfill and that we are wired for connection in order to thrive and reach our full potential.

And though bees are often a source of fear for people, a bee’s sting is a defense mechanism and form of self-protection. We humans can relate to this as our fight-flight-freeze system is activated and we feel threatened or are trying to protect something important to us, too. And like a bee’s sting, we may also do things that can be hurtful to ourselves and others. When we get curious and understand what’s going on underneath the behavior, it helps us learn how to adapt our responses and effectively address the situation while honoring the underlying need and feelings.

And there you have it! No worries if you’re still not a fan of bees. And if you have a fear of bees and would like to change that, let me know and we can work through it!
